About Us
Lutheran Social Service Senior Companion Program is a State and Federally funded program. Volunteers provide competent, reliable and ongoing companionship or caregiver support service to assigned older adults. Senior Companions can offer encouragement and support to older adults. Participate as a member of the support team that helps keep them healthy and living independently. Senior Companion volunteers earn a stipend of $4 per hour as well as mileage reimbursement. Senior Companion volunteers do "what friends do for friends, activities/tasks WITH the clients not FOR the clients." Senior Companion volunteers do not provide chore services of health care services.
