Dinner, Dance & Auctions at the Minnewaska House
The Auxiliary of Glacial Ridge Hospital is hosting the 19th annual Harvest Ball. It’s a chance to dress up, have a great meal, bid on live and silent auction items, and dance the night away while bidding farewell to warmer days!

The theme this year is Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon” – 60’s Cocktail Piano Bar attire (think black suits for men and Audrey Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, and Elizabeth Taylor styles for women)

5p: Doors Open
Check out the Live and Silent Auction items, Chance Board, 50/50 Drawing, Yeti Cup Cash Raffle, and “Walls of Wine” and “Walls of Beer”

7p: Dinner
Spring Salad with Cran-Pear Balsamic Dressing / Popover with Honey Butter
Supreme Chicken Breast & Swedish Meatballs
Rosemary Red Potatoes
Green Beans Almondine
Dessert / Coffee

with Piano music by Colin Cochran

9-11p: Dancing
Jackson and The Burn Band

Tickets:
Seating is limited, and it’s a sell-out event. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at the Hospital Reception desk (main entrance) or by calling Joanna at 320.334.5539. Tables of 8 or 10 can be purchased and/or reserved upon request.

Contact Joanna Curry, Auxiliary Liaison, at 320.334.5539 if you have an item to donate for the live or silent auction or if you want to give a monetary donation to help sponsor the event. Proceeds go towards the Auxiliary’s pledge to Glacial Ridge Hospital’s Radiology Department for the new Bone Density Scanner. Thank you for your support!

The Community Impact is assisted by Thrivent Financial.

Please join us in the Central Square Art Gallery on Saturday, October 14th, from 5:30–7pm, before the George Maurer Group performance begins, for the Opening Gallery Reception of our October exhibit, the MAHS Student Soundwalk. There will be complimentary refreshments provided by our generous gallery sponsor, Rolling Forks Vineyards.

What exactly is a soundwalk?
It's a unique form of art engagement that combines music, sound design, art creation, writing, and physical exploration of various art spaces. This soundwalk, titled, “I Am,” encouraged students to create an immersive audio and art experience as part of their artistic education, aiming to stimulate their imagination, artistic expression, and awareness of how adding music, poetry, stories, or ambient sounds can enhance the perception of art, fostering a deeper connection with the artist's vision.

"This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Lake Region Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund."

A well-known name on some of Minnesota’s most well-known stages, George Maurer has arranged music for a diversity of projects including, including a Minneapolis production of “Rent” (2010) and the Chanhassen Dinner Theaters’ “Altar Boyz” (2008) and “Swing!” (2008) and the Minnesota Orchestra’s 2011 “’80s Rewind!” show, for which he co-arranged five songs, led the band, directed the vocalists and played keyboards for shows at Minneapolis’s Orchestra Hall and with the North Carolina Symphony.
Leslie Vincent blows the dust off some old-school jazz classics with These Foolish Things, and puts a Millennial luster on the canon that defines early 20th century American music.
