In September of 1994 the Lakes-Amelia-Villard-Leven Improvement, Inc approved its Articles of Incorporation. Mjøsen Lodge was organized in Glenwood on December 4, 1916. Since the lay of the land around Glenwood has a great resemblance to the parts of Norway around Lake Mjøsen (Mjøsa) north of Oslo, they named the Lodge Mjøsen. In 1948, Gemle Lodge # 174 from Starbuck (est. Nov 1916) merged with Mjøsen Lodge.
Mjøsen Lodge is apart of District 1 of the Sons of Norway and Zone 4. District #1 is comprised of 7 states including Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas
